Analysis
Urban design is cyclic in nature and contains several cyclical processes. However, every urban design project starts with the fundamental gathering of information, functional analysis, and visual survey. This analysis will be repeated however many times as necessary to reach the desired level of complexity.
Synthesis
After planning is our second cyclical step, synthesis. It is the concept generation step, where we deeply analyze and consider all potential constraints and problems to develop ideas and solutions. We repeat this step periodically to allow the tackling of multiple ideas at once and to reach the desired solution.
Appraisal
During the appraisal, we weigh our options against each other to assess the best course of action moving forward according to our client’s goals and objectives for the project. We also consider cost efficiency, practicality, and any additional constraints. Like the former phases, we repeat this step periodically until we form a solution that best fits our client’s needs.
Implementation
After repeating the urban design process cycle sufficiently and evaluating all our options to reach an agreeable plan of action, it is time to implement the said proposal. During this phase, we oversee construction to ensure everything is going according to plan while communicating with our client about the progress of the project.
